MEET TRUE NORTH BUILDERS
FAITH-DRIVEN. CRAFTSMAN-LED. BUILT WITH PURPOSE.
At True North Builders, we believe construction is about more than the finished structure. It is about serving people well, honoring our commitments, and approaching every detail with care. Our work is grounded in faith, strengthened by experience, and guided by a commitment to building things square, plumb, and true.
MEET THE OWNERS
EXPERIENCE, STEWARDSHIP & A PASSION FOR BUILDING
Nathan Plunkett was born and raised in North Georgia and brings a uniquely diverse background to every project. In his twenties, he worked as a wilderness instructor for the North Carolina Outward Bound School, traveling the world and helping people of all ages develop interpersonal and personal leadership skills. That experience shaped his passion for nature, green building, and responsible stewardship of the earth.
Nathan has also worked as a mechanic in Montana and as an in-home therapist serving children and families in rural communities. In 2013, he began his construction career framing mountain homes and timber-frame homes in North Carolina.
Since then, Nathan has worked across residential and commercial construction on projects ranging from home repairs and remodeling to apartment complexes, data centers, call centers, and corporate headquarters. As a framer and carpenter, he has built timber-frame homes, traditional mountain homes, yurts, and luxury camping structures.
Today, Nathan uses that broad experience to help families confidently navigate homebuilding, remodeling, and repairs. He remains committed to learning new technologies, preserving traditional carpentry skills, and completing every project in a clean, safe, and professional manner.
